SolidWorks file format CAD Models and earlier versions of software
 

It's the second week and I decided to put together the steps to get as many model files in the right format as quickly as possible. I created two teaching SolidWorks assemblies, one for FRC and the other for FTC on my blog http://blogs.solidworks.com/teacher today. If you download these assemblies you will have hundreds of parts in native SolidWorks format. This will cover many in the 2011 kop. I also created the field of play as a native SolidWorks lightweight single part.

Download the model files. Unzip. Read the blog to link these unzipped folders directly inside of SolidWorks and create your own custom library.

Select Tools AddIns and check Toolbox and Toolbox Browser to get standard fasteners like screws nuts bolts. Select Tools, Routing to get most of the standard electrical connectors located in the Design Library under Routing.

If you have older versions on SolidWorks, ProE, Inventor, Autocad or other cad software you need to go to
Www.3DContentCentral.com and search FTC, FRC or the name of the manufacturer such as SMC or Banebot

You can also try great libraries at Madtown Robotics or First Cad Library

If there is a SolidWorks model file you need after you download my assembly then send me the manufacturer name and their part number. I will contact them on your behalf. Marie
