Next Year's Guest Stars

Ok, who thinks that an awesome guest speaker for the FRC next year would be Daft Punk?

I think that would just be plain out incredible.

Based on what I heard in TRON Legacy, I wouldn't mind having their music on the program. Without seeing pictures in advance, maybe I could skip actually seeing them. Will.i.am, on the other hand, has been known to appear with some fly accompaniment.

Daft Punk would be awesome, because they always make appearences in character. They always show up in costume and never make public appearences without the costumes.

FIRST doesn't exactly have a running tradition of guest stars.

Hate to break it to you, but next year is a Primary year in NH. All the normal rules are out the window.

...but Daft Punk would be awesome.

I know! I mean, how cool would a robotics kickoff be with guest speakers who are robots! (sorta)

And they're FRENCH!

Our team has dance sessions in our shop, and Daft Punk is definitely one that comes up often on the playlist. Now imagine every team at Nationals having a jam session to Daft Punk live. Yeah. Epic.

Though Daft Punk doesn't really go on tours in general with the exception of Alive 2006/2007. I doubt it would happen, but, agreed, it would be most awesome.

A French act making a guest appearance at a kick-off of a robotics event that has no French teams or events in France. Yeah, that makes sense...

I'm not sure if Daft Punk would be the best though...

Daft Punk is not a mass appeal group - the stereotypical nerd is obsessed but they're not Top 40 or anything. They'd pander to the audience FRC already has, not who they're after.

Yeah. I would have to agree that Daft Punk would be awesome to have at the next year's Kick Off. But I'm thinking something a little more awesome would suffice for us. But I would suggest a few bands but some of them have extremley innapropriate lyrics, but the song's they play are extremley wicked! I would love to have somebody a bit more cooler be a guest at the next Kick Off, instead of that one guy who was this year's guest (No Offense to him).:yikes:

The Black Eyed Peas aren't exactly rated PG

That was my reaction to Will.i.am...and he's from my generation! Myself and friends have come to the conclusion that I'm the only person under 25 who didn't know who he was until Kickoff. I can't think of many people who would be readily recognizable to all generations involved with FIRST.
