rookie question i know... how much can we program in java?

our rookie team has two java-fluent programmers, and would like to use it as much as possible, so what exactly has to be programmed in labview? or does anything have to be labview?

It is entirely possible to program your entire robot using Java. Your cRio just needs to be formatted for Java, and the Netbeans environment needs to be set up for FRC.

The only LabView programming that you'll need to do is if you'd like to create a custom dashboard.

Well there is the smartdashboard that is usable in Java so you might not even need LabView to customize the dashboard.
