...we can't even do that. No meetings can take place without me there. Otherwise, apparently, the Earth would fall down as high school students interested in engineering -- accompanied by adults who are not official coaches of the team as far as the school is concerned -- will run amok and destroy Everything(tm)...

That is really unfortunate. Do you have any teachers that are involved? The only reason I ask is because two of our mentors are teachers, allowing us to work whenever, minus being able to use the machine shop.

We have two teachers. There's me, and then there's Mr. Rob. Mr. Rob also coaches several other activities, so generally he is able to spell me for particular times, but by and large it's gotta be me.

It's not a big deal... It's what I signed on for, and it's part of the challenges of running a team in a very rural small town that is 50 miles from anything approaching a medium-sized city.

It'd just be nice to, you know, not always have to be "that guy", but if that's what's required then so be it. I'm not complaining, I'm just envying Reese's ability to occasionally sleep or spend time with his wife during the build season. :D

If the lid (the sixth side of the cube) does not seat properly, the MINIBOT does not pass this part of the MINIBOT inspection.

This means that your minibot can be placed in the box in any matter... doesn't need to be constrained to 12"Wide x 12"Long x 12"Tall... A squared+B squared= C squared :)

Not yet. That's next on our list to be finalized. :) Our solution shouldn't add any weight though.

ALAN! AL! AL! ALAN!

Are you talking about taking it apart and placing the pieces in the 12x12x12 box? I would run that by the Q&A...

No, he means if I set it in the box diagonally, or better yet diagonally and on 45 degree angle then my minibot can be longer then 12".

For clarification, I made the picture below. According to the manual, the MINIBOT needs to fit in the 12" X 12" box. However, the MINIBOT can be made longer than 12" to fit in that same box.
