We'll see how things go here. I had 2-3 inches on the ground at home this morning with 12-24 more on the way this afternoon.

Hey, a day or two off would be great for me. Course, living across from KU I have the benefit of having a full machine shop within walking distance, sounds like I should take the parts that need machining home with me tonight.

I second the comment about BB costing us more time than snow since we will only lose (at most) 4 days to this snow storm (Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat).

Right as I open this thread, my sister yells down that school is canceled.

We didn't get much done yesterday, so clearign our minds will be helpful.

Southern MN has 3 ft on the ground in most places (screw driveway, i've got a freaking canyon!) but they were all on weekends, save for today's. The upshot of this is no snow predicted this weekend for our area. Pizza build, woo!

We have lost 1/3 of our build time. It's all part of the challenge :D

Man, our First Team got lucky, basically up in here, up in here, up in there, we are getting snow tonight and tomorrow, luckily for us, meetings are mondays, tuesdays, thursdays, fridays, and saturdays. Unfortunately at the moment it seems to look like we wont have school thursday which puts poop in our schedule. =(

That doesn't make our 1/4" of ice seem so bad!

Up here we've got about thirty inches on the ground from the storms over the past month and we're expected to get another eighteen or so between today and tomorrow. We've had five nights locked out of the school due to snow and two more due to maintenance on the roof of the school cleaning that snow off. Today and tomorrow only add to that meaning by the end of week four, we will have been locked out nine out of twenty eight build days.

At the risk of cursing our build, all I have to say is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zESYDjWrpbA :D

We've been told to expect 8-18 inches here over the next 24 hours. I'm still betting its unlikely to shut down schools here. The GTA is usually fairly prepared for snow like that. Well, the municipalities are, anyway. The drivers... well, they all seem to forget how to drive, every time theres more than a micron of snow on the ground.

We'll probably get a snow day tomorrow, and depending on how the storm tracks, maybe the next day...

...so we'll just work longer/harder to make up for it. It's not like we have, erm, what are those things again? Oh, right: options.

In my 10 years of FIRST I can only recall my team cancelling one meeting due to the weather (if the mentors can go to Xeorx to work they can go the site afterwards. The kids were given the option of showing up if they wished if the conditions were bad) but now that we are in a site run by the City school district we have had a meeting cancelled and a work day (no meeting scheduled but we could have had access to the site to work) with the very likely possibility of having tomorrow's meeting cancelled as well.
This year has definately been challenging to say the least.

They just canceled school for tomorrow and all after school activities for today and tomorrow. We can not meet (school rule) when activities are canceled. We were planning on meeting both days because we are behind schedule from back orders from vendor (s).

Now we'll see what Thursday will bring.

In NYS it is illegal to hold extracurricular activities on a day when school has been canceled due to weather... Thus, Naples loses about three days a year due to snow/cancellations.

We never made the kids come. We just gave them the option if they wanted to come.
Because we had our own site the school district had no say on when we could or could not have the site open.
