Mother Nature and the 6 weeks

Mother Nature does not care that FIRST teams are on a tight schedule. We have lost many days and I suspect we will lose most of this week.

Please remember to be safe this week. Use your time off to develop scouting sheets, to run game scenarios and to work on awards. This is part of the challenge, don't take unnecessary risks.

100% agreed this upcoming storm will affect probably 60% plus of robotics teams...

It may sound cliched, but there have been instances where not being able to get into our shop due to weather has actually been helpful to our team! It's an opportunity to re-think the choices you have made, and sometimes being forced to put down the tools leads to better design decisions (at least it has for our team!)

It also gives tired mentors a time to take a well deserved nap.

Yeah we're going to lose this week most likely due to this storm. 20inches in a rural area just sucks.

Heck, 20 inches at once in an urban area (where that's twice what they're prepared for) is going to shut things down for a while.

To us this is a blessing! The team doesnt have to go to school and I dont have to go to work so we get at least 24 hrs straight to get as much done as we can. Bring on the white stuff!

I'm not exactly excited about losing a meeting to 30 inches of snow - especially because I personally only get two meetings a week and this cuts one of them :(

We are also looking at losing tomorrow afternoon (after school activities canceled) as well as Wednesday due to the storm.

We were sent home early tonight and the rest of the week looks bad. Loosing week four is gonna suck big time. I'm so glad we are not doing a week one regional this year,

Re: Mother Nature and the 6 weeks

Last year, we didn't lose too much to the snow, as the major snowstorms of the year dumped between Christmas and the week before kickoff.

This year, we haven't been so lucky. We've had about a week of snow days since build season has begun, and we're getting "Snowpocalypse" tomorrow that will wipe out even more days of the build season.

That being said, I'm glad the snow is coming now instead of week 6.

Luckily, when the big snow storm hits us we really only have a chance for a snowday on the only schoolday we don't build, wednesday.

Given the time Banebots has already cost us, what's a little snow?
