How to wire REED switchs??

Hello,
can someone give a quick explanation on how to wire the reed switches to the control system?
Thank you

Use a PWM cable.
Wire one wire to white (signal)
Wire the other wire to black (ground)

Do NOT use the red 5v wire.

The other end of the PWM cable plugs into one of the set of 14 Digital IO pins on the Digital Sidecar.

I don't think there is any connection difference for a reed switch from any other switch of the same electrical type. e.g. NO, NC, SPST SPDT DPDT The actuation by magnetic field is the main distinction for this type switch.

So the red wire of the reed switch goes to signal and the black wire goes to the (-) on the Digital Sidecar?
