Changing a joystick name?

Has anyone else had problems with knowing what joystick is stick 1 or stick 2? We have three joysticks and two of them show up as "Attack 3" We are testing our arm out so I really want to know what's going to happen before I touch a joystick moving something that big. I thought about re-naming the sticks somehow so that they are easier to sort. Does anyone know how to do this, or an even better way?

I would reccommend you applying some tape onto the joysticks and their USB connector so you can easily identify them physically. You can name an object almost anything in programming. I use leftStick, rightStick, and auxStick (auxilliary.)

In the Drivers Station Setup screen, with the robot disabled, pull the trigger on a joystick. You will see an indication of which joystick is being used. You can drag the joysticks up or down to get the physical joystick associated with the logical address that you want.

The game controller name comes hardcoded from the firmware in the joystick device. The name is not editable in the Driver Station application.

The only easy way I've found to uniquely identify a joystick (aside from pushing a button and watching it flash on the Setup tab), so far has been to combine different models.
E.g., Attack3, Extreme Pro, MadCatz
