different minibot shaft???

We need a new shaft for out minibot because the one we were given does not work with our design. We made a new shaft, but couldn't find any regulations for the shafts. Is it "legal" to use a different one???
Thanks!!

You can make a new shaft using materials on the approved materials, or parts from the approved list of Tetrix components. This is my opinion only. You can ask the GDC on the FIRST Q&A for an official answer. Maybe steel welding rod will work, or aluminum round.

Steel isn't on the allowed materials list in any form (other than what's in the Tetrix kit).

Aluminum stock, on the other hand, is.

Actually you can use steel from fasteners like shoulder bolts, etc. The. Minibots small about creative use of the allowed materials.
