Awesome job! Your grabber looks fantastic also. We were hoping to do a rolling grabber, but it is just not working out for our arm.

You will definitely be a force at the Hawaii regional. BTW, can your minibot be deployed with a straight deployment (a pneumatic powered drawer)?

No we are planning to use a swinging deployment as shown in the video

I understand you are using as swinging deployment, but don't forget about the coopertition points/award. If we happen to be your alliance partner, we might be interested in deploying yours (and vice versa IF we can get ours working better).

So...CAN it be deployed from a straight push outwards? (I know there is a lot to consider, but just planting seeds).

Thanks Bobby, it's all done which is a feeling we haven't had in years. After designing we built and it needed very little trouble shooting. The roller idea we stole from team 100 the year we saw them in the finals in silicon valley. Our mentor came up with the screw lift and telescoping arm. The minibot was built by our winning VEX students, it's really a nice piece of engineering. We can't wait to try it all out in competition, I really wish we were doing a mainland regional this year but no mo money!!

Btw, we'll have two minibots in Honolulu. They can be deployed any way you like. The switch activates when it hits the pole. How you duplicate the cradle is the tough part. I don't see too many teams doing this during seeding. In eliminations I can see alliances rigging up things to grab those minibot points. Our best time up from the time it hits the pole is 2 seconds.

Nice job Dale!

Now there are at least two teams deploying minibots and in 2 seconds or LESS. ;)

I guess we're not the only one that came up with the side swinging, 90 degree deployment method.

(the minibot was not powered for this very first test of our deployment arm)

Thanks Glenn, I don't know about the less than 2 for us...we're about as fast as we can go but we do have a month before the contest.:)
Wish we were doing a mainland regional with you...we'll be watching and cheering for you guys. Let us know any inside scoops you find. See you in Honolulu:D
