Cool Way to make your own PWM Cables

Hello Everyone,

One of our mentors found this on ebay. It seems to be a very nice crimping tool to help make your own PWM cables.

The product page and a video demonstration is shown here.

Enjoy,
Sunny

810's been using the "Deluxe II" kit for the past 2 years, and its great. It was recommended by our friends over at 358.

That looks like the Deluxe Crimper from Hansen's Hobbies (it even links to that page). We use it, too. Even though we mostly use CAN now, it is still very useful for all the digital I/O we use.

The item location is in your town of Suwanee, GA. Any chance it is a member of 1771 (also in Suwanee)? If either of your teams purchased it you could probably avoid shipping costs.

Same here. I have faith in my team members and trust in them and their abilities - except, of course, to crimp connectors properly. Hansen Hobbies is relatively inexpensive for the peace of mind I get that the connector isn't going to fail me randomly.

We used this last year for all of our connections and they never came apart. I wholeheartedly reccomend this to anyone who needs something similar.

at my new team, we gut the stock cables (since all our bots are now converted to CAN, we plenty to spare). At my former team, we made our own using needle nose pliers and solder. takes a few to get the knack of it, but it works.

We bought the necessary equipment from Hansen this fall, and are very happy with the results. We are not using CAN this year, so being able to custom make PWM cables, sensor cables, etc, to whatever length is needed was quite wonderful.

This is very interesting. Hobby store PWM cables are so expensive these days...

Thanks for the link!
