Only one black jag working in system. HELP
Both of our KOP Black Jags recently died from "gate faults". When we had them installed, our system was working fine. Now we have replaced both black jags with new ones that we ordered from DigiKey. Now when they are hooked up, we can only have one black jag in our system.
When we have one black jag running as our serial-to-CAN bridge, all the gray jags below it work fine, but if we out an additional black jag, we are unable to get communications with it or any jags connected after it. One of our KOP black jags still works as a serial-to-CAN bridge, but is also having this problem now. This problem presents when connected to the computer with BDC-COMM or when connected to the cRio using C++. Is there sone setting that we have to change to make the black jags work in CAN only mode? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: Only one black jag working in system. HELP
Have you updated their firmware?
Changed their device number? What happens if you unplug power to one of the new Jags? Does the rest of the CAN bus still work? |
Re: Only one black jag working in system. HELP
Yes, we have updated the firmware (we've actually done it multiple times in case it got corrupted one time).
Yes, we have given all of the jags different IDs, which we know because we see the ID when we connect directly to it. I haven't tried unplugging one of the jaguars yet, but I'll try it when I can get some access to the robot. |
Re: Only one black jag working in system. HELP
i have now tried disconnecting the power to the black jag and there was still no down stream communication.

Re: Only one black jag working in system. HELP
Okay.
That means that either there is a manufacturing error in the new Black Jaguars, or there is an issue with your CAN bus wiring. |
