Re: SWAT Robotics' 2011 Robot
The surgical tubing strands on the roller gripper reminded me of 148's 2007 robot. It looks like you went to a simpler roller material in the final design (as did 148 this year). I didn't see any floor pick-up in the video though. How is that working for you?
The frame looks super solid. I expect to see some abusive defense in KC, and you guys look built to handle it. We were torn between the elevator and the 4-bar this year once the 84" cylinder was confirmed. I think they will both play well. We'll have to come by and snap some pictures in the pit. In some future FRC game I'm sure we'll build a 4-bar arm too. See you in KC. |
Re: SWAT Robotics' 2011 Robot
Is the claw just a top roller or does it roll on the top and bottom?

Re: SWAT Robotics' 2011 Robot
Very nice. Beautiful frame and I love the name cut in the metal. Good luck and we hope to see you in St. Louis!

Re: SWAT Robotics' 2011 Robot
We always try to make a solid frame so we can take those hard hits with minimal collateral damage. Yes we can pick from the floor and quite well if i do say so myself, this is mainly because yes both top and bottum of our claw are powered.

SWAT with swerve? That alone scares me.
Add in a roller claw and four bar that function like that and I will be having a nightmare tonight. Looks heavy duty (and scary). |
