Multiple Regional Feeds

The last thread was getting very cluttered and I just wanted to update everyone on the status of the MMRambotics Regional Feed page.

After a very very surprising traffic load on Thursday, we have solved what appears to be all of our problems.

Unfortunately for you with small screen resolutions, the NJ webcast is still not resizable due to it being broadcast via MMS, we are working on a solution for any next week.

Traffic numbers have been awesome thus far averaging about 2000 page visits per day. But the chat room has been fairly inactive, Just so everyone knows, you do not need a ustream account to use the chat room, but you probably will to use the individual regional chats.

Also, the site currently does not support IE, we're also working on that, but for this week, download a better browser.

If anyone has any problems or concerns please post them here, or PM me.

And a big thanks to Andrew (basicxman) for putting together this page, I brought the idea to him just 1 week before regionals where to start. He is a excellent programmer, and if you see him around the forums, give him some rep.

Today's the big day for week 1, hope your all ready :)

"but for this week, download a better browser"

Always good advice.

1 Question,

I have a Ustream account I want to be logged in as. However I couldn't log into it last night. Do you know where that option would be?

Hey, awesome website!

Everything except the NJ feed works for me - it tells me I need a Windows Media Player pluggin, but won't let me download it directly from that dialogue box. I googled and downloaded it separately, and it still says I need the pluggin. Any ideas?

I've got Alamo and GSR running right now--this is great!

Keep up the good work!

in the chat box, type /nick then your user name, it will then prompt you for a user and password

You did the right thing by downloading the plugin. unfortunately i don't know what to tell you about why that didn't work, I am looking into finding a way of re-broadcasting MMS streams via ustream.

Assuming the browser you're using is Firefox, if you installed the plugin but it still doesn't work go to the directory Firefox is installed then check for a folder called plugins. There should be a file called "np-mswmp.dll" there.

Alternatively, you can open up Windows Media Player, go to File, Open URL, and paste in this weblink: "mms://sargasso-3.arc.nasa.gov/njregional"

Week 2 Regionals are coming up on http://mmrambotics.ca/regionalfeed

A lot are MMS and we have problems making them resizable, if anybody has a solution please post! A note to companies and teams broadcasting regionals: please use a webpage-friendly format. MMS requires annoying plugins and just...bleh.
