Using the DAP in the pits

Is it legal to use the DAP in the pits by turning off wireless on the DS and tethering it to the DAP? We are running the camera through the DAP and I don't want to lose the camera feed in the pits. We could power the DAP off and plug all the ether net devices into a simple router, but that is not very practical.

Yes this is perfectly fine, you are not creating a wireless network. This is what my team does: The programming laptop and the Driver-Station both are tethered to the KoP 2011 Bridge on the robot, and I test my code by running it inside the pit if I cannot go to the practice field. Your setup should work fine for communication if IP Addresses are right.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping.
