Kettering University and FIRST

I am a junior in high school and a second year FIRSTer. I am planning on going to Kettering University and have heard a lot about a lot of FIRST students there. I was wondering how big of an influence FIRST has on the school, and what the school does for those FIRST students. Just curious, thanks! :)

Re: Kettering University and FIRST

FIRST Students make up at least 15% of class of students entering Kettering.
Kettering supports 5 Michigan FRC teams directly, but students mentor probably a dozen or more teams (I can name a half dozen off the top of my head).
Kettering offers $22,500 to winners of a FIRST-specific scholarship, and this is not one or two winners, but many. Kettering has awarded over $1 million in FIRST Scholarships.
Director of External Affairs Bob Nichols (see him talk about FIRST here, while at CMP 2010) is the driving force behind Kettering FIRST and the Kettering District Competition.
