Animated ads obscure Search

The "search" dropdown box appears behind certain animated sponsor ads (AndyMark among them) and cannot be used. This only affects people who have not donated or are not logged in. (It also only affects people using a "supported" browser; Safari, for example, goes to a separate search page instead of using the dropdown.)

You can make your browser "unsupported" by disabling javascript.

Also if they are animated .gif files, you can turn off animation.

So I have three lines of defense: I'm a paid supporter, I have animated .gifs turned "off", and I have the noscript extension installed.

The search dropdown works for me, including on top of the Vex, DraftSight, and 2goPC banner ads.
I'm running Firefox 3.6.14 on Ubuntu 10.10.

I think Alan's problem is with the flash ads (Bright Ideas Fundraising, Dobrusin Thennisch, and AndyMark).

I see the problem with the flash ads above and IE 8. I do not see it with firefox.

I had the Bright Ideas ad on this thread page and the search button came out okay. Ditto the DraftSight ad while typing this.

Running Firefox 3.6.15 on Windows XP Pro, SP3.
