Regional/District winners or just Championship winners?

The Killer Bees have Jim Zondag, who won in 2008 at the Great Lakes Regional.
And Dana Hobbs, who won with team 34, but is now a 33 mentor due to moving up to Michigan (Yay for us for that!). She won in 2005 at the Peachtree Regional.

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

There are quite a few multi-WFFA teams. I know 365 has had John Larock, Lou Rosanio and Joe Perrotto as Finalists. 217 also has at least 2: Paul Copioli (who's also a Championship WFA) and I think Ronald Arscheene. Both Andy and Mark have WFFAs (Andy's a WFA), both via 45 I believe. 341 has another 2, though I'm blanking on names (sorry :o). 1114 has at least 2, possibly 3 (one's Karthik).

Can't think of any double-WFA teams, but there's a list around somewhere...

EDIT: found the spreadsheet. No WFA doubles, at least by the team they earned them with. I think this is a complete list based on the team they won with, but as Carolyn pointed out people change teams.

Complete WFA list:
1997 Liz Calef (88)
1998 Michael Bastoni (23)

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Speaking of WFFAs and awards lists...

Does anyone know who the 2011 Kettering WFFAs are?
Also, some of the associated team numbers are always missing and have to be tracked down, so if anyone can contribute those for this year the full awards list can be updated. That might add to Siri's multiples list.

2011 WFFA winners:

BAE/Granite State Regional
Sue Hay 1073

New Jersey Regional
Peter Randall

Finger Lakes Regional
Paul Jacobs

Alamo Regional
Robert M. Shoemaker

Kettering University District
?
?

Traverse City District
Bob Schafer 141
Larry Roy 201

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

I'm more confused as to why there are WFFAs listed fro Traverse City than why there aren't for Kettering. The FiM rules supplement says that it will not be awarded at the district level.

Missing teams:

New Jersey Regional
Peter Randall 1218

Finger Lakes Regional
Paul Jacobs 1551

Alamo Regional
Robert M. Shoemaker 647

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Team 188 has 3 official WFFA winners, however several Team 188 students have gone on to mentor other teams, and won WFFAs with their new teams.

In the team's literature, they say they have "produced" 6 WFFA winners, which I think is an accurate claim:

Roland Anderson (current 188 mentor)
Mark Breadner* (former 188 mentor)
Shawn Lim (former 188 student)
Karthik Kanagasabapathy (former 188 student)
Ian Mackenzie (former 188 student)
Tristan Lall (former 188 student)

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Team 116 has 3 Regional winners, Dave Lavery, Mike Wherley, and Greg Smith.

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Let me clarify my question. I am looking for teams that have had 2 or more Regional WFFA's while they are on that team. Not included are alumni or WFFA's from other teams who join a current team with WFA winners.

Oh by the way, that above list didn't include team 176 who won 2 WFFA at Connecticut Regional; Dave Leenhouts in 2005 & Bill Pease in 2010

Mark McLeod 11-03-2011 22:38

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Here's the awards list Siri referred to.
The summary list is sorted according to your criteria, except the two odd 2011 Traverse postings are in there and you'll want to remove them. As Kevin noted, there have been no other District WFFAs in the past.

Today's WFFA winners are also not fully accounted for.

San Diego Regional
?

Florida Regional
Jack Tusman 103

WPI Regional
Allan Motherselle 177

Lake Superior Regional
Liv Anda Asplund

Greater Kansas City Regional
Gary Hannah

Pittsburgh Regional
Earl Scime 2641

Wisconsin Regional
James Langfeldt 135

Wow, you're right, I seem to have cut off all the teams below 188 when I posted. My bad, definitely plenty of people on here I should've noticed I missed:

25, Wayne Cokeley (also 1089) (NJ, 2006)
25, Paul Kloberg (NJ, 2007)
27, Tim Flickinger (GL, 2004)
27, Anthony Lapp (DT, 2008)
34, Dana Hobbs (GA, 2005)
34, Ed Sparks (GA, 2010)
103, Dave Beck (NJ, 2004)
103, Cathy Beck (FL, 2010)
111, Al Skierkiewicz (IL, 2005)
111, Dan Green (IL, 2006)
111, Raul Olivera (IL, 2009)
116, Dave Lavery (MD, 2005)
116, Mike Wherley (GA, 2006)
116, Greg Smith (DC, 2010)
126, James Broderick (MA, 2006)
126, Jorge Martinez (MA, 2009)
131, Dave Kelso (NH, 2004)
131, Andy Grady (NH, 2006)
131, Kristen Kelso (NH, 2009)
155, Paul Griswold (NH, 2005)
155, Ted Hall (MA, 2007)
155, Michael Muikon (MA, 2010)
176, Dave Leenhouts (CT, 2005)
176, William Pease (CT, 2010)
180, Warren Boudreaux (FL, 2007)
180, ? (FL, 2009)

I'm missing the winner from 180 at Florida 2009.

Wow, thanks. Are there any below team 25?

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Correction to the team 932 listing - the second winner is my husband, Joe Matheson. He won in 2009 in Oklahoma. We think we might be the only married WFFA winners. Are there any others out there?
932, Lane Matheson (2008, MO)
932, Joe Matheson, (2009, OK)

The 2007 WI winner was actually me. Allison Babcock I believe was a member of 1747, but I'm not sure what event she won at.

Re: Woodie Flowers Award winners

Thanks for the corrections, everyone. This was originally from Team 358's "All Awards" spreadsheet, but it seems Mark McLeod pick the right one: their specific "Woodie Flowers" spreadsheet seems more accurate (though not perfect).

This is the original list with your corrections:

1089, Wayne Cokeley (also 25) (2006, NJ)

1114, Karthik Kanagasabapathy (2005, WAT)

1114, Ian Mackenzie (2008, WAT)
1510, Williane Tenca (2006, WA)
1510, Bob Hendel (2010, OR)
1538, David Berggren (2008, SDC)
1538, Martin Wilson, 2009, SDC)
1547, Adee Edan (2006, IS)
1547, Olwen Sigsworth (2008, ON)
1592, Vickie Huffman (2008, CO)
1592, Jon Bauschlicher (2010, CO)
1675, Kevin Kolodziej (2007, WI)
1675, Jon Anderson (2010, MN2)
1732, John Wanninger (2008, WI)
1732, Scott Keller (2010, IL)
Allison Babcock is a mentor of 1747 and won at 2007 St. Louis.

358's WFFA spreadsheet also has these differences:
  1. 537, Chris Paulik (2009, Wisconsin) instead of Debbie Lang
  2. 668, Dennis Jenks (2009, Silicon Valley) instead of Tim Emerson
  3. 812, Daniel Rupert (2007, San Diego Regional) instead of Yang Xie
  4. 987, Joe Barry (2007, Las Vegas Regional) instead of Derek Bessette, which is true
  5. 1538, Jon Jack (2009, San Diego) instead of Martin Wilson
  6. It's missing 1011, Michael Rush (also 64) (2004, AZ), which is also true
The other 1011 WFFA is William Bennett (2005, AZ)
  7. It's missing 1089, Wayne Cokeley (also 25) (2006, NJ), who did in fact win
The other 1089 WFFA is Chris Gregory (2010, NJ)

In short, the WFFA spreadsheet is probably more accurate, but could still use some work if people are interested.

It also has some winners with unknown teams:
?, Lilach Muzikant (2010, Israel Regional)
?, Richard Anderson (2010, Utah Regional)
?, ? (2011, San Diego Regional)
?, Liv Anda Asplund (2011, Lake Superior Regional)
?, Gary Hannah (2011, Greater Kansas City Regional)

There are already a few 2011 additions too:
  1. 103, Jack Tusman (2011, Florida Regional) -- another 103 winner
  2. 135, James Langfeldt (2011, Wisconsin Regional)
135, Bill Whiteman (2007, Palmetto Regional)
  3. 647, Robert M. Shoemaker (2011, Alamo Regional)
647, John Gregory Allen (2009, Dallas)
  4. 1073, Sue Hay (2011, BAE/Granite State Regional)
1073, Jeff Reuter (2010, BAE Granite State Regional)

@Marc: Of the teams currently active, none below 25 have 2 WFFAs. 11, 16 (also a WFA), 20 and 21 all have 1.
@Lane: Dave and Cathy Beck (103)?
