I don't think anyone has a program to do it - there just isn't enough time for it! 1114 has the fastest double I've seen, and even they only have ~3 seconds to spare at the end! Assuming they could do the third as fast as the first two, they'd need a bare minimum of 18 seconds (since I'm guessing the second/third tube takes longer than the first).

That'd be really impressive, but I'm not sure it'd be all that valuable! It'd seem pretty uncommon that a hypothetical triple-uber robot is with two partners who can't uber more reliably than they can get all three! Perhaps I have too much faith in the "average" robot... :-)

1730, excellent work. Even more interesting is our robot going across the field and malfunctioning while you hang it!

Remind me, were the Robettes able to hang twice? I knew they are trying.

I watched 217 do it today. Very nice job!

In Silicon Valley Regional I seen team 254 attempted to score two ubertubes a few times. They developed a program for it but I haven't seem them do it successfully. Maybe they will do it successfully tomorrow!

Team 987 scored two ubertubes in 6 of their 8 matches today. One was missed from an opposing alliance coming across the field and hitting their alliance partner (who was touching the tube) and the second miss was from a tube that deflated when they picked it up.

They also put their new, faster minibot on display today, too...

Team 525 has done it at least 3 times at the Minnesota regional. Here is a link to see them in action. http://525swartdogs.org/pages/Practice_video/2011.html

Add 1730 to the list. It's worked multiple times in both practice and qualifications.

I've heard one of the other KC winners, 525, has added this trick to their repertoire as well across the street at 10K Lakes.

525 has indeed proved themselves capable of scoring two ubers in autonomous.

I'm sure someone will be able to get the video posted soon but we were able to back up our practice match performance today with a 2-tube run in a qualification match at North Star. We've still got plenty of room for improvement but we're still working hard at it!

Good Luck to everyone still working on their code!

That will make them interesting but by the time it gets down to the "near finals", most everyone can get an Ubertube on the top row. Personally, I think 3 separate robots hanging 3 separate ubertubes is more reliable than one robot doing 2.

Re: Which Teams Have Been Able To Score Two Ubertubes In Autonomous

I heard that three teams scoring an ubertube would become cramped for the alliance, so that robots may actually collide with another robot.

Today when I watched the SV regional through webcast (I wasn't actually there), I did see an alliance where all three tubes were scored by each robot. So I think the claim is a bit of an overstatement.

But I agree that 3 teams is better, because if a team can consistently do autonomous (score one ubertube) then they are likely a good team.

111 did it at midwest

I did see 111 do it at midwest a few times, but I also saw them attempt to pick up their teammate in one match instead of the other ubertube.

987 got double-auto in most of the matches this weekend (I'm pretty sure 15 out of 17 matches). Good job Cody- awesome programming!

Our team had the code written up for it, but we ended up not doing it because we didn't have enough time at competition to work on the timings. Maybe for Beantown Blitz we'll try it, haha
