As per the rules in <R92> you are only allowed:
At the Radio Shack website, it says that the switch is used for projects...

This would probably come under classification as a limit switch, so I think you will be fine with one of these, but you should check with the official FIRST Q&A just to make sure.

Is there any special reason you want to use this switch? Would a common household switch not suffice?

I was an inspector and the 'unofficial' lead MINIBOT inspector last week in Duluth. Unless you showed me where that switch is marketed as a limit switch or a light switch designed for household use, I wouldn't allow it.

Switches that were obviously limit switches or household switches passed. I did have one team that brought over the packaging for a questionable switch and the fine print on the back said it can be used for a closet door activated light switch. Good enough for me.

Other inspectors/lead inspectors may have different interpretations....

The type of switch you describe sounds very much like the Tetrix ON/OFF switch. Unfortunately only the Tetrix switch is allowed unless you can show that it is marketed as a lighting switch.
