LA Webcast

Hey Guys,

Team 1515 is bringing the FIRST community, the LA Regional webcast this year.

This year not only are we broadcasting the live feed but we are trying something new this year as well, a "Pit Cam".

The Pit Cam will be located by the streaming booth and pointed out across the pit. This is an experimental idea that we are trying out this year and I may be moving the camera around during Thursday to try and find the optimal location.

Please provide us with feedback bellow as I will be monitoring the thread throughout the day.

The Webcast can be found at www.bhrobotics.com

Our site will have booth feeds a chat and the match schedule's and rankings.

The direct links in case the site goes down or for those who just don't like our site:

Excellent. We here at Team Titanium (1986) will be watching your robot in particular in anticipation of playing together in Denver. Any chance of you guys webcasting the Denver regional as well? I haven't heard of anybody localy doing that, and I don't think they've been webcast in the past.

Good Luck this weekend.

I don't think CO had internet last year--even the match results and stuff like that were only put up at the end of the day, or when the field was unpacked later, and that stuff gets priority when it comes to internet connections (with the exception of contacting HQ to find out what the field issue is this time). How do I know? Fantasy FIRST was having to try to figure out everything the hard way.

Well, I saw a nice little "Ninja" commercial, then the "Pit" was in view. That is, for only a minute or so, then someone stepped in front of the camera for a loooooooooong time. Now it's nothing but black.

If at all possible, can the Pit Cam height be raised? A view from about 8-10 ft. will make a huge difference.

Pit cam showing LogoMotion logo; I'd presume that one's being moved around. Main went out briefly (~1:30 PDT).

Oh, and can someone tend to the chat on the bhrobotics site? It's showing what seems to be a political flame war shaping up, no robotics discussion at all.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the feedback.

Couple of things to note:
1. It was Thursday so we had a skeleton team at the regional, and no one really monitoring the chat. There will be a person dedicated to this Friday and Saturday.

2. As far the Pit Cam goes, I was looking into places to mount it higher up. My dream location would be the truss, but I will keep dreaming. I think at the worst I will be be mounting it on top of the Pit Monitor for Rankings and such. This would put it about 8-10 ft off the deck.

3. The main stream was reliable, once I revived good video and audio sources from the AV crew around 3pm. It ran solid through the end of the day.

Thanks for the feedback,
Matthew

Hey guys, to anyone watching just wanted to let you all know. The streamer keeps crashing because we are trying to simultaneously record the matches. We have stopped recorder and do not expect any further service interruptions.

Thanks,
Matthew

Any chance you could level the Pit Cam? I feel like I'm falling over.

The person mixing the video feed of the matches must not be watching. Several times when there is a minibot race, all we see is the drives station camera view.

I was watching some of the regionals, and I heard that smoke was covering the field. The video didn't show any smoke, but a bit later that fire was going pretty strong.

The stream is running very well, with no lag. The pit cam was an awesome idea! It would be cool if it was focused on a specific pit so that viewers could watch a team working on their robot.
