Hawaii webcast

I am enjoying the webcast from Hawaii but is anyone else having trouble with it? It is very choppy even with 2 different broadband connections.

I got no visual at HI; sound was on, though.

That's too bad. I really like the camera work, lots of close-ups of the robots and minibots.

Team 359 would like to thank teams 368 and 3880 for being great alliance partners in the elimination matches. Our strength was our ability to communicate and strategize effectively, with everyone following the plan in receiving a regional win.
Special shout out to teams 2439, 1056 and 3882. As regional finalists, they were awesome where either alliance could have won the tournament. Scoring 2 or 3 logos consistently with ubertubes was very impressive.

Congrats to all of the other award winners and the 10 rookie teams we had this year.

The Hawaii regional is by far the best regional in terms of organization, venue, support for teams, excitement, team social, opening/closing ceremonies and the many volunteers who put this event together year after year. **and I'm not referring to the beaches and everything else outside the tournament**
When teams receive free lunches and drinks for all three days, a kick butt social, coupons/gift card for McDonalds BEFORE you come to the tournament daily, and the awesome program, its a regional like no other....:)

What a great regional it was! A big Mahalo to Waiakea and Lahainaluna for being such a great alliance and 359 for all the parts ;) This regional was by far my favorite one. Again thanks to all the teams :D

I agree with Glenn, the Hawaii regional can't be touched in terms of the way it is run. The "perks" are unreal. Tahitian dancers in the opening ceremony, professional dance crew in the closing, free lunches, free dinner and games at the social and more. The ROC (robotics organizing committee) and BAE give teams so much support- mahalo! Its a shame No mainland teams made it over this year. I think it testifies to the fact of how hard it is for us to travel there. Congrats to the Thunder Down Under for Chairmans- you are an inspiration!
I could have played you guys all day....that's the way it was supposed to be played. Back and forward to the end. Have to tell you that even though we lost I felt good about it. We gave it a good fight and I really enjoyed the matches. Thanks again Baldwin for the pick! With a little more luck we might have pulled it off? Now to stress over money for worlds!!! My congrats to Waialua, McKinley and Kealakehe for the win and the hard fought but fair fight. You guys are all a classy act to follow. To Baldwin and Lahainaluna my outer Island allies...the elims were maybe the most fun I've had in nine years of doing this! It's too bad we all can't go to Worlds!

Mahalos to Waialua 359 for selecting us and Kealakehe 3880 for rounding out our alliance very nicely (and nice reverse Mark Leon with the blue beard).

Baldwin 2439, Waiakea 1056, and Lahainaluna 3882 - you were definitely some scary contenders and made the final matches exciting for all!

I wanted to make a special mention to Punahou 2090 on their Coopertition™ and Gracious Professionalism Awards. You said to me, "We can't just talk the talk, we've gotta walk the walk." You definitely did that by bringing in your three minibots and giving a number of teams the option of participating in the end game. That's quite a class act.

May good fortune come to all the Hawaii teams making their way to St. Louis!

Thunder Down Under won Chairman's award? Excellent! We got to know them at GSR last year where they quickly became a crowd favorite. Congratulations!

Uploads to YouTube were taking longer than anticipated, but all of the Hawaii matches are now available for viewing and posterity's sake here.
