Don, what is interesting is that INTJ's are supposed to be the rarest of personality types. I agree, given the field, it isn't much of surprise that the under 5% in the rest of the world is overrepresented on CD.

For the record, I am INTJ as well.

INTJ seems to be pretty common on CD....

Hmm.... I definitely expected to see many rationalists among the CD community. I'm a bit surprised to see a few Idealists as well, but am actually quite surprised by not seeing as many artists. I thought with FIRST's attraction to very creative and unique people, CD's users might fit that profile.

Keep the results coming! Very interesting indeed.

It might not be that FIRST is dominated by what is supposed to be 2-5% of the population, but that those are the people who flock to CD the most out of all the FIRST people. Then again, maybe not...

Fat forward three years later and we ended up with a very boring group of people with no dynamic at all. Nobody was fit for leadership (except for me and another guy who was there pre-test.) The group was practically dysfunctional and took a long time to be rebuilt.

It was a interesting picture of what happens when a company relies on this kind of test too much.

When they taught us about Meyers-Briggs in Professional Development I, it came with the caveat that actually using it to make choices was "outside of the scope" of the test. I couldn't get the leadership TA to give me a straight answer as to what its use was other than to get to know yourself better.

They stressed that Meyers-Briggs reveals preference not skill. For example, someone who is Introverted is not necessarily shy, or even quiet. What it does mean is that to recharge at the end of the day they would prefer a few quiet minutes alone or in a small group as opposed to heading out to dinner with a large group of people they didn't know well.

INTJ

Your Type is INTP

Introverted: 56
Intuitive:12
Thinking:75
Perceiving:56

Well, I can't say terribly surprised and the link to the type description certainly described me well. It also partly explains why my parents don't relate well to me... but that is beside the point.

Another INTJ (~90, ~60, ~10, ~40) reporting in. Interesting that this mindset is so common among roboticists, but rare in the 'normal' population. It's nice to see that I know so many abnormal people. :)

Go figure, I'm never too strongly of any 1 type. "Judging" has gone down a bit since I left college, and apparently I think less too. Intuition/Introversion is about the same.

I was suprised by this. I thought of passing it up at first, but took the test and briefly consulted with Dr. Google. INTJ and it's pretty spot on. I think everyone has to force some yes's or no's.
