Seriously, I think the ultimate champion on Einstein will be decided by consistency and the seeding of the division (and therefore the relative strength of the emerging alliance). So let the "stronger" divisions beat up on each other in quals (possibly leading to "surprise #1" and alliance breakup) while the cream rises to the top in Curie. In this game, marginal scoring diminishes quickly. I think all division winning alliances will be capable of putting up 4 logos per match, they just need to do so consistently. Bottom logos past that really aren't a gamebreaker (only 6pts for whole logo, weak). The winning alliances need to consistently put up 3 Ubers in auto and avoid penalties. They also need to consistently be at the towers at the 10 sec mark to enter their 2 minibots in the race of the sub-2sec minibots. It is way too early to predict which division will come out ahead in those races... :ahh: We need to take it one step at a time. We will not face Newton or Galileo (the aforementioned "strong divisions") till the Einstein Finals. After we crown our champion, we need focus on beating Archimedes for taking our field in the Dome (and to keep The Radioactive Archimedes' Screw Trophy :D ) Personally, consider being in the same division as the AC of my team's 2 most successful runs on the world stage a sign of good luck(Nat Champs w/ Beatty in '01, Div Finalists w/ 987 in '08). Also, we have a good mix of old friends and new faces. Plus, having 5 HOF teams in your division never hurts ;) |
Re: 2011 Curie Division
Looks like 176 is the only CT team in Curie this year, odd!
Oh well, we're ready to compete, and we're bringing a few new cards to play as well! ;) |

All of Team Mean Machine is also pretty excited to be on Curie!
Especially with Skunkworks and Hotwire, our PNW friends <3 |

Re: 2011 Curie Division
You know that this year is the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie winning her second Nobel prize (the one in chemistry).
I think that Poland is declaring 2011 as the year of Curie. Perhaps 2011 is also the year of curie in FIRST? |

Re: 2011 Curie Division
I'm really sad I won't be attending Championships this year (college is lame, don't do it).
My only hope is that we somehow make it onto an alliance for eliminations.:yikes: |
Re: 2011 Curie Division
This should turn out to be a great devision. It'll be awesome to play with the High Rollers and everyone else again! Let's break that curse!

Re: 2011 Curie Division
OPR is not the end-all be-all for this game. Just look at MSC...if we went by OPR, the end result would have been completely different.
I am confident that many of the teams in Curie can hang/beat the top teams in the other divisions. Besides, they all have to beat each other up...before they get out of their division. In the end the best alliance from each division will be pretty evenly matched. 67, 16, and 348 did our best to take down the Galileo giants last time we were on Curie. If you study those Einstien matches it was closer than the final scores looked. There are a lot of strong teams in this division. I believe the alliance that gets out of Curie will be very strong. Eliminations are going to be very tough..the division winner will be have their strategy and teamwork down by the time they are done. I remember hearing Newton was pretty weak last year and no way they would be able to beat the "un-beatable" alliance coming from Curie. 67 is ready for another challenge! |

Re: 2011 Curie Division
If we are going of well know and consistent powerhouse names then yes, Curie is weak. but I don't believe we are week at all who knows what could happen through the three days of competition all of the top contenders could break some how could switch up the top 24. I feel like Curie is going to be a great division this year and tell people around not to sleep on us.:D
