I disagree with this statement.

Curie has: 67 (two time defending world champion and 2011 MSC Champion), 2056 (Still undefeated record at regionals and part of current 2011 high score record holder of 150 - just filthy good), 71 (Beatty, enough said), 987 (maybe a little bias here, but we did win a WC at this similar game in 2007 and two Regionals this year), 365, 245, 573, 51, 968 and 1717 (southern CA powerhouses), ...on and on.

We know we have built up a name for ourselves in the state of Michigan, but it means a lot to us to know that people outside the state who rarely see us think highly of us as well. We are glad to be competing at the World Championship and we are ready to play against the best of the best here in Curie!

Some robot stuff:

Name: Velociraptor
Drivetrain: Holomonic, four 8" mecanums powered by one CIM each.
Appendage: Double articulating arm
End effector: Belt driven roller claw with the ability to rotate tubes
Minibot: 1.5 second climb, our deployment system may change beforehand.

Our robot was geared for about 15ft/sec free speed, so it's around 11-12ft/sec. We generally hang six tubes a match, making two logos on the top row or one logo on top and one on the middle, depending on our partners. The most tubes we have hung in a match is eight. Our roller claw is a tube magnet and can pick up tubes in almost any way imaginable. Performance wise, we set the high score at both the Waterford District(100-3) and Ann Arbor District(114-1).

I dont have any pictures of us but here is our youtube account with a couple videos from Boilermaker Regional.

http://www.youtube.com/user/FRCIcaru.../1/yrCeEwpm_-Q

We scored 5-8 tubes a match (not counting a first couple matches where we were getting used to things), by saturday our minibot was 100% successful with a time of about 2 seconds with deployment, We went 17-0 and won the regional. If scouts want any more info just send me a pm and ill be glad to help you out.

We've been busy with our practice bot this weekend. New minibot runs at 1.2-1.3ss. New deployment is a rail"fun" style. Thanks Dustin(816) and Tyler(2016).

Here's our little robot. By little I mean almost 7 feet wide.

So are we! We were disappointed by our 2nd place finish in Virginia, but we lost to a very good alliance, so we can only be so disappointed.

Here's 176's robot and minibot.

Specs:
Robot -
2 speed drivetrain (7fps, 16fps)
6wd with AM roughtop tread
2 stage elevator powered by a BB 550 motor
Pneumatic gripper to grab tubes
Wrist powered by a window motor
Deployment arm swing-out powered by a window motor
Deployment to pole contact made by pneumatic cylinder

Minibot -
2 hourglass shafts, each powered by a Tetrix motor
Climbs tower in approximately 1.3 seconds

The robot is averaging 5-6 tubes in teleop, as well as 100% scoring in autonomous on the top row throughout both of our regionals. We won the Granite State regional with 1519 and 175, and were quarter-finalists in Connecticut with 1124 and 714, where we were substituted out after an encoder failure. The encoder has been fixed and tested for St. Louis.
