How stuffed are the floppies?
Posted by Ian, Student on team #188 from Woburn C.I..
Posted on 3/3/99 2:46 PM MST Well, the message pretty much says it all...I'm wondering how much the floppies are generally stuffed (I'm the human player for my team and it affects how I practice). Also, does FIRST generally replace floppies that have become crushed or do we just have to deal with it? |

That was a problem for us because we designed our basket for the floppies we had gotten from first (which didn't seem to be very stuffed). So at the competition we had a problem in fitting floppies into our basket. I think they replace damaged floppies, although there was only one damaged floppy in the whole competition as far as I remember. CYA + good luck David |

Now, the floppy that we got at kick-off is pretty much flat now, from being tossed around, and played with, and having the peanuts, and I assumed that at the end of a competition day, the field floppies would be in a similar state. This was also evident since were able to fit 7 or 8 in our basket the last day and could only fit 5 or 6 on the practice day. We got one tangled in our drive system in the quarter finals. When I took it out, I noticed that it was quite noticeably flat. I did not notice if they replaced it for the next matches. So be prepared for all conditions. Raul |
