Go M&M's! Eastside Memorial Green-Tech (formerly known as Johnston High School) is the epitome of the Cinderella Story. Joe Daily, Sarah Le, and all of the mentors on the Miracles and Machines team really molded the raw talent of that team and made it into a true role model for FIRST teams worldwide. The team members have a LOT to be proud of, and they will probably set the pace for competition in the Central Texas region for the next several years.

I would be very surprised if Miracles and Machines did not win an RCA in the near future!

I wish we could have competed against LASA Robotics. I hope we still get some good news going, instead of our school being in bad recognition.

Edith,

One of the things that we talk a lot about on teams and here in ChiefDelphi is culture change. Changing the culture and how difficult it is. Mindsets, mentalities, narrow-minded thinking and opinions, ignorance, assumptions, bias. That's all a part of what you have been facing and are up against and your team/your school is making inroads into changing that culture. What that means to you is something that maybe you guys can think about and I'll come visit with you and find out what your thoughts are.

You will have to work hard to keep making a difference and get people behind you but you guys are making a difference. That is no small thing. We don't know what that means for your school but we know that you are having a positive effect and receiving positive recognition. To care about your school and your team like you do and to share that with all of us, is very inspiring.

Hope to see you soon,
Jane

P.S. oh - when you compete against or with us, we'll celebrate that! With M & Ms. :)
