Flag pole in St Louis
 

We are on our way to championships and our team (1510) would like to bring our flag, but we cannot bring the flagpole. Would we be able to borrow a pole, or anything like it during championships so we could have our flag be shown. We would greatly appreciate any team that would help.

Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to bring anything larger than a suitcase, but if you can't get another team to bring a flagpole for you, try and run out to a hardware store. Long pieces of PVC pipe or long, thick dowels (using zip ties and/or duct tape through the grommets in the flag to attach it) work well as flagpoles.

Get some PVC to the length that you want your flag to be. Then cut it into smaller pieces that fit in the bottom of a suitcase and have connectors. When you get to STL assemble and put some tape on the connectors so they don't come out easily.

It's to my understanding that you've shipped all of your equipment with the lead mentor from 3574, correct? When we were loading our stuff (after five other teams), there still seemed to be plenty of room. We had our flag shipped with him. If you purchased some PVC pipe there, as Karibou said, I think there's enough space for it to get shipped back. See you there!

We have a meeting tonight, so I could look and see if we have anything you could use. We're driving down so if we have it, I know my car could fit it. I'll update you tonight.
