Some of you may have seen the results of the Robowrangler's "Operation Playhouse."

Here is some backstory:
http://blog.iamjvn.com/2011/05/operation-playhouse.html

It was one of the highlights of my championship. In fact, it may be one of the highlights of my entire career in FIRST. ;)

Thanks to 118 for being such good friends. We love you guys.

I wonder if the folks who label generic merchandise for trade shows (and FIRST teams' giveaways) could come up with a cost-effective means of printing a logo on a few thousand balls.

Always looking to optimize the production process....

Something tells me that 118 won't have to shop for giveaways next year--add "118" to all surviving balls and it's a perfect giveaway!:p

So I was walking around Newton and saw some play place balls in a clear plastic bag. I wondered what it was for.... ;)

This is pretty awesome!

Please tell me you used Silver Sharpies!

Re: pic: Operation Playhouse

It would be ironic if those balls were next year's game piece, at which point 118 could reply "muahahaha!".

One of my good friends from the Beach Bots sent me a picture of this the night you guys did it. I burst out laughing at dinner and just had to share it with the entire team. I think it's great teams can be great friends and connect like this. Thanks for the laughs 148 and 118! :)

Hilarious! This prank should have won a award. I can't believed I missed it in person. I took pictures of 118's robot the following day and I was wondering why they had a few balls attached to it.:D

Where did you get the playpen balls/for how much? I'm thinking epic senior prank...our band director won't mind if we turn his office into a ball pit, right?

The balls are not cheap, in college we had a small spare room in our apartment and turning it into a ball pit was one of the ideas we looked into, I believe the balls cost $10-$15 per 100ct.

Balloons are cheap. We filled our lead mentor's office with balloons (to the ceiling and beyonddddddd) a few years ago. It was AWEsome. Great use of hot air although, I think we used a compressor to help us.

Team 148, the Robowranglers from Greenville, TX. Always raising the bar, no matter what they do. :)

It's hard to believe that is an 84" cylinder. You were just trying to verify they complied with operating volume, right?

Re: pic: Operation Playhouse

Epic prank! I guess they complied with the 84" rule. :D

Re: pic: Operation Playhouse

Some time on Friday I think it was someone came up to our pit and asked if we wanted some balls, they had "robowranglers" written on them, were somewhat bouncy, and were colorful, so we took a few of them. It seemed strange though, we couldn't figure out why they were handing out these random playpen balls of all things.

Well, now I have my answer. This is epic.

I found a few of these in the queue line throughout the regional. Without knowing what they were, we figured we should really give them back to the Robonauts. The looks of their faces make so much more sense all of a sudden...
