AC3D - Does anyone here use this ? What do you use it for ? etc.

Also, are there many blender users here ?

I use blender but not for the award since it's not made by Autodesk.

Until recently I had not been aware of AC3D. I now know of a couple of people using it and for reasons too long to get into here I was wanting to know if it was really used for anything and for what.

Precisely !!

The discussion was driven by schools trying to get into animation and I know of a school that considered using it. If you dig around on the internet there doesn't seem to be a lot of usage that I can tell. A side discussion is how schools develop curriculum and pick software to support the curriculum.

Personally I think the hands down best thing for a school to use is Maya. If they don't have any money a runner up would be the most current version of Blender. At a glance, the current version seems to be WAY better than a few versions back.
