Is it just me?
Recently, some threads have been going back to the same old post whenever I click on "go to first unread". For example the "Friday Night Entertainment - will.i.am with special guests" always goes to post #170. It doesn't happen in all threads. I also recently upgraded to IE9, so that could be an issue I suppose.

You're using Internet Explorer? FYI, a company called Mozilla just came out with this new internet browser, called Firefox. You should try it! It works wonders! You can get it at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/!

Firefox? Pshhhhh, Chrome is where it's at.
(to make this post useful: I'm having the same issue occasionally. Using Chrome.) |
Re: Is it just me?
I have not had this issue with Firefox, but have had it with IE at work.

For us at work and use company controled computers, its not that easy. These machines are locked down from any user installing software. (execpt admin's) This keeps the virus down to near zero, and the IT dept. happy. Our company has invested millions in networks, assets, servers, all to protect our data and customer's data. They just can't take a change on someone downloading some goof-ball program thats going to ruin days worth of work. I'm not saying Firefox, Chrome, are bad, but what you have to realize is that industry runs on Microsoft products, and what Microsoft says - goes. |
Re: Is it just me?
I just signed on for the first time since I left for St. Louis. I thought that was why so many threads were jumping forward posts.

Re: Is it just me?
If you refresh in such a way that the browser gets the data for the webpage instead of the browser's cache (Ctrl + F5 instead of just F5), the "go to first unread" button disappears. I'm using Firefox, and all browsers will refresh pages like that when you press Ctrl+ F5 so I don't think it's a bug. In any browser, it loads some data from the cache to speed up the refresh process.
