Role of Analyst for Einstein Teams

Ok so the whole season everybody has been searching for a role for the analyst and there have been a few good ideas here and there. However my coach has been saying for a long time now that by the time you reach higher levels of play, teams will have an extremely effective use for the analyst that could potentially turn the tides of a match. It is by this statement that i am wondering what exactly did teams on einstein or even eliminations use their analysts for?

We didn't really use our third human player, to my knowledge.

For us, champ elims was his first time being Analyst versus human player.

He had a great seat for finals.

Periodically yell time remaining during a match, whether if any robot malfunctions, especially if minibots fall off robots.

We weren't an Einstein team, but it seemed like this was the most useful role for the analyst. I never realized how much time I had spent watching the clock until someone else was doing it for me.

Depends upon whose side you are on... could be a bad thing the refs weren't paying attention...

If I was the coach I would have confiscated the phone til the end of the event.
He could have cost the alliance dearly doing that.

What we had are analyst do this year is keep track of time by yelling them out at certain points (which was already mentioned) as well as calling out the score difference between alliances, they would say "+10" if we were up by 10. That way our coach would be better informed when it came to different decisions on the field. The Robocoach that was used in 2008 performed similar tasks after their main duty.

Not an Einstein team by a long shot, but we had our analyst read the clock off and coach our alliance partners while our drive coach focused more on our own drive team.

I imagine for eliminations they would probably not coach our alliance partners.

I found that very helpful! Also, our analyst was a big help in off-field strategy meetings with other teams and such.
