"Baba O'Riley" - The Who

"Bat out of Hell", especially the intro - Meat Loaf

"Don't Stop Believin'" - Glee ca....?#$#!!%%...Journey

"Machinehead" - Bush

"Stranglehold" - Ted Nugent

"Glory Days" - Bruce Springsteen

"Ladies and Gentlemen" - Saliva (already mentioned) was awesome as the recap video music back in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals (you know, back when LeBron James still had a soul)

"Under Pressure" - Queen/David Bowie

"First Time" - Lifehouse

"Whip It" - Devo

"Devour" - Shinedown

"Apache (Jump on it)" - Sugarhill Gang

Opening Theme to "Phantom of the Opera" (can't go wrong with a pipe organ)

"Ole Ole Ole" (Soccer Anthem)

"War" - Rocky (Instrumental)

"Even the Losers" - Tom Petty (ha)

"Sirius" - Alan Parsons Project

"Stayin Alive" - Bee Gees

"Two Minutes to Midnight" - Iron Maiden (maybe a bit over the top, huh?) :-)

"Cult of Personality" - Living Colour

"You Raise Me Up" - Josh Groban...j/k...but yeah, that actually made it into a team video.

Stobe by Deadmau5
Human After All by Daft Punk
One Minute to Midnight by Justice
Mammagamma by Alan Parsons Project
Thunderstruck by AC/DC
Adagio for Strings by Tiesto
Building the Perfect Beast by Don Henley
Cliffs of Dover by Eric Johnson
Electric Feel (Justice Remix) by MGMT
Play the Game Tonight by Kansas
Where's My Thing? by Rush
Voyager by Daft Punk
YYZ by Rush

Those would be a few of my suggestions. Not necessarily robot related, but still great video background music

My #1 pick: Thunderstruck (AC/DC): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI3NkSWoVEI sorry to use my own video, but i do, in general, really love when robots + ACDC mix ;)
Some others:
Palladio - Escala
Inception Soundtrack
Inspector Gadget (Dubstep) - Chrispy <-- this one could be interesting.. haha
Kill Everybody - Skrillex <-- weird lyrics... but the rest of it is great!
Technologic - Daft Punk
The Son of Flynn - Daft Punk (from Tron)
Battle - Harry Gregson-Williams (from Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe)
Requiem for a Dream is an AMAZING piece and always a great choice
And finally, this commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjJdSinx-S8) played at my freshman year drumline world championships. Sadly, I do not know the name of the music that's playing, but I still listen to just this clip often, because I love the music so much. If you find out the name of it, it'd be great as background music as well.
Hope this helps!

Orange Goblin - "Scorpionica"
Priestess - "Lady Killer"
Metallica - "For Whom the Bells Tolls"
Torch - "Fire Raiser"
The Stooges - "Search and Destroy"
Christian Mistress - "Black Vigil"
Helmet - "Unsung" (for fans of the Robowranglers' video that used Refused, this is probably your best bet)

My favorite from this season was 2791's robot reveal video. Chris picked out The Distance by CAKE.

I love that song. Love you Madly is also a great song by Cake.

If you're going for something more techno or electronic, check out teams that had songs in their video like 2016

Don't know if it was mentioned already, but last years Robowranglers video (here) used a legendary song, New Noise by Refused. Truly a song that gets you pumped on life.

Or you could just use the whole soundtrack to Rocky IV

I'm pretty sure I just watched a South Park episode about that song. Refused needs to give those britches a rest.

If Hip Hop isn't to your liking, then take a page out of the playbooks of the sporting world. NFL Films has one numerous Emmy's for their amazing packages featuring all sorts of inspiring classical music. Also, many sports highlights montages have borrowed extensively from the soundtracks from films such as Rudy, Seabiscuit, Remember the Titans, etc.

Here are some great examples of epic sports montages with great music: (Seriously, I could watch these all days long)

2011 Miami Heat Team Intros Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight
2010 World Cup, Landon Donovan's Game Winner -- Theme from Rudy
2008 Summer Olympics
2008 NBA Playoffs
2008 Phoenix Suns Intros
2007 Toronto Raptors Playoff Intro
2006 Toronto Raptors Team Intros Jay-Z/Beyonce - Crazy in Love
2002 Winter Olympics Recap -- Remember The Titans
1997 NBA Finals Recap -- R. Kelly - I Believe I Can Fly
1996 NBA Finals Recap -- The Outfield - Winning it All
1995 Michael Jordan Returns to the NBA
1996 Summer Olympics Recap -- Beethoven's Ninth
1992 NFC Championship Game
1992 Summer Olympics, Derek Redmond
1991 NBA Finals

I know personally I use whatever song is an up beat song and that can get kid "hype." I know for sure I'm going to use a Kanye West song!
