A cool column by CNN.com's LZ Granderson on the importance of support for education.

I have to wonder if he was talking about FIRST (or VEX, or any other competitive robotics program, really) when he wrote that last paragraph. It fits this organization's message so well.

Thanks for finding and posting this article -- the idea of parents (and society as a whole) needing to celebrate education in the same way that we typically celebrate sports and entertainment is an excellent one -- and foundational to FIRST!
