Interesting idea (only for fun, not to do with rules!)
Posted by colleen, Student on team #126, Gael Force, from Clinton High School and Nypro.
Posted on 4/7/99 3:58 PM MST i've got an interesting (wierd, informative, diverse, mind-boggling, maybe odd, non-conformist yet logical) idea: i sit here often, sifting through these many messages (and of course writing a few).. and some of the people- andy, Mr. J, Mr B..and a few more- i know and have met, but most of you guys I've never met! i'll leave after these four years with many new friends, but most of the people i meet in FIRST i never talk to as much as with you guys! so to get to my idea: what if..(you gotta love them).. we were to have a little meeting of the minds in Florida?? for all those frequent contributors to the forums, pick a time/place and introduce ourselves to one another.. so we can all put names to the faces of who we talk with, and can call them friends from now on? what does everyone think? colleen (P.S. especially that Moe guy and your socks.. i'm sure i know who you are, but i'd like to know exactly what everyone's talking about!! i'm always out of the loop!!) |

So I'll tell ya what I'm gonna do - Since I'm just one of the many coaches of this Team 47 'CHIEFDELPHI' - I wil propose to the others that we set up a sign (www.chiefdelphi.com) outside of one of the tents and that we will host a little 'LIVE' chat session ! We will make nametags with everyones name or logon id or what every and we can all meet each other face to face! From all you ChiefDelphi Forum goers we need some feedback on - The best day and the best time - I thinking that about 30 minutes is long enough ? How about it? Maybe, we should do it right after the giant group hug ! See ya in Florida ! Mike A. (P.S. - I 'll show ya my Moe socks from last year, and even make it a point to introduce you to him!) |

Everyone will be settled in and (hopefully) the repair-madness will be kept to a minimum since little will have happened... how about it? jonathan |

I'll be the guy who will be shamelessly marketing his team's robot and openly negotiating some really nasty backroom deals. ;) *** whooop, whooop, sarcasm alert!, sarcasm alert! *** Later, Andy B. |

Now, we'll have to fight off all of those top 16 teams who will be clamoring around our pit, begging to partner with us. It could get messy. I can see it now, teams will probably be showering us with free van door motors and speed reducers along with free pizza and team shirts, just so we won't reject them when our name is picked. We'll probably have to fire up TKO (our robot) to help protect us from the masses. See what you've done? I hope you're proud of yourself! Shamefully, Andy B. ps. Your Jump & Jive shirts sure are swell, I'll take an XL. :) :) :) |

However, As Raul so aptly predicted, I have managed to mope around enough that my wife has agreed to do without my for 36 hours. I am making the most of it!!! My plane arrives late Friday night. I turn back into a pumpkin early Sunday morning. But... I get to see the entire deal on Saturday. If any of you are wondering what my mug looks like, look for the guy leading The Chiefs in our I-I-I-I Cheer (a.k.a. The Ooga Cheer). You'll know it when you hear it :-) See you all at EPCOT!
