That means 254 and 971 are both playing against their practice robots in their respective semifinal matches. |
Re: 2011 MadTown Throwdown
Congratulations to 254/973(Swerve)/841 for winning the 2011 MadTown Throwdown and 1323/971/3569 for being our finalists this year.
I can't thank each team enough for being patient through all of ours issues. We had random field issues that slowed down our cycle time. Next year, we are working on a getting a full metal field/full control system for all off seasons in California (Not final). We also implemented an "Abby" tube (Thanks 1538!)/sponsored matches! Which allowed us to raise around $2,000 for a little girl named Abby. Her father works for Madera High School and three year old Abby has brain cancer. So the family and our community has been trying to raise money for cancer treatments that insurance won't pay. I can't thank each team/student/mentor/sponsor/donor enough for helping us/her this year. Special Thanks: Team 254 - For bringing/shooting shirts and allowing us year after year to borrow all your field elements. We couldn't host the event without your support. Team 1477 - For coming all the way out from TEXAS! and helping teams with their radio throughout the entire event! Team 1671 - helping us fill in volunteer slots and helping us tear down. Team 254/971/973 - It was a pleasure having you guys bring out your 2nd/3rd bots to fill in slots/make the competition more interesting! People: Austin Schuh - Can't thank you enough for helping teams with programming all day long and helping us with communication/field issues. Ken Mitchell - For coming out and helping us with the FMS issues/running our sound mixer board. Ceal/Tim Craig - For coming out again and doing our rankings/logistics/photography. Picasaweb.Google.com/MadtownThrowdown2011 Eugene Fang - Being a great head ref for us and setting up our webcast along with WRRF's. Andrew Nabors/Rohi - Couldn't have done it without you guys, great job FTA and making it through all the issues. Cheryl Greene - For being our head judge and judging between some very competitive robots. Robert booth/Atamaian - Awesome MC and Announcer! Also thank you WRRF/LA Robotics for supporting us for the last 3 years. It was a fun event and we look forward to seeing all the teams next year! -RC *Sorry if I missed anything, hella tired* |

Re: 2011 MadTown Throwdown
It really bothers me that 971 didn't get to attend the championship or IRI. You guys were highly competitive this year.
