MAR Board meeting held 10/29

The Mid-Atlantic Robotics board met via web conference today. Here is a brief report on what was discussed. For details on any topic please contact MAR.

In general, it seems to me that MAR is moving forward nicely, but there are still roles open for anyone who can help.

Quote:

Insurance coverage was discussed and agreed
An equipment committee was formed to manage all equipment owned/used by MAR
A field donation was accepted with a hold-harmless

The R3 committee report was delivered:
• The role of members was discussed, who gets contacted and what happens then, including tracking contacts into MAR.
• Key contacts are needed for PA, NJ and particularly PA & DE. Anyone interested?
• Key focus is stimulation of new growth, as retention/reclamation is for senior mentor.
• Some open questions were discussed.
• Additional committee members are needed

The Competition committee report was delivered
• They are meeting weekly.
• District events are no more than 42 teams.
• All five districts are being coordinated, • Volunteer committee is also active
• Discussed each event, capacities, waitlists, etc.
• Some teams have registered for only one event. Need to reach out to them to clarify.

MoU to FIRST second revision to be submitted soon, MAR wants to meet in Manchester to discuss.

Still awaiting a Point System for MAR from FIRST.
• A baseline system that covers all possible conditions is what is expected, no open questions.

Finances & Budget for region championship issues, FIRST response is (literally) just received and needs to be reviewed before further discussion.

Don, this isn't meant to be offensive to you...just general housekeeping stuff.

Mods, can we either get a new sub forum for Mid Atlantic Robotics or rename this sub forum District Events? Sorry, I like being able to filter based on sub forum and if the content is not relevant to the sub forum name this will get confusing very quickly. Sorry, MAR and FiM are only marginally related and most people interested in one won't be terribly interested in the other and if they are subscribing to another sub seems to make more sense.

Either way please delete this post after a decision is reached.

-Sorry for the interruption.

No offense taken; I too struggled with where to put the post, and ended up here. A separate sub-forum for MAR is unwarranted; combining into this one is a good idea IMHO.

Only Brandon is capable of creating or modifying subforums, so a PM to him may yield best results.

Better to PM Mike Martus, as Brandon has been busy at work lately and may not see a message for a while.
