Re: Team 2169 KING TeC Kinect Video
Well done. That is very interesting. Was it as intuitive as using conventional means though? i.e. joysticks/gamepads

Re: Team 2169 KING TeC Kinect Video
I personally prefer joysticks/gamepads as I feel they are more accurate, but the Kinect definitely has a faster learning curve. We had some new people try driving and they all got it right away.

Very nice, axis 1 and 2 with button 1? So far we have felt safer with joysticks. What language are you guys?

Re: Team 2169 KING TeC Kinect Video
We are using LabVIEW. We took the Y axis values (-1 to 1) from the Kinect 1/Kinect 2 inputs and mapped the encoder values to the robot joint and applied the value as the setpoint in a PID control loop. The "Head to the Left" gesture is button 2. For safety, we applied a filter on the axis values in order to reduce the effect of occasional stray values.
