[FF]: 2012 Season Long Waiver Thread
 

This thread is to deal with the waiver claims and all other things that have to do with waivers.

Quick overview: When teams become available for some reason after an event's draft, they go onto the waiver list. For between 48 hours and a week, the teams are available for claiming. At set times (likely Monday afternoons), the teams on waiver are awarded to players that have put in claims. You can make as many claims as you like, but as soon as one is awarded, you go to the bottom of the list. There can be a lot of potential points in this side of FF, so it is not to your advantage to totally overlook it.

When making a claim: You need to identify the team you want, the team you're giving up, and the event and tier. If you're making multiple claims, prioritize them. (If you're doing a multi-team claim at one event, prioritize the teams to drop.) You can post in this thread or PM me; if you PM me your claims, I may post that you have made a claim, but not what teams you claimed.

Waiver schedule: Any team announced as available by a given Friday midnight will be given out the next Monday after 5 PM EST. If a team doesn't make it in by that time, it will go in the following waiver period.

Also, if an FF team drops a robotics team, does that robotics team then go on waivers or straight to "free agency"?

It depends on timing. Right after the draft, up until a "reasonable time" (typically midnight or so), dropped teams go to free agency; after that, teams go to waivers. If you notice a team adding at an event after the draft, they go to waiver, effective when their addition is announced. If a FF team drops out entirely, all teams from that FF team go straight to waivers without free agency--this cuts down on the mad scramble to pick up teams. If a team doesn't get claimed in waivers, they go to free agency.

Something that may be helpful later: "Missing team priority" is a priority called when a FF team is missing a team in a draft due to that team dropping out. It allows that team to grab any team, free agent or waiver, without needing to go through waiver. (If the team chosen is on waiver, the FF team drops to the bottom of the priority list.)
