[EWCP] Into 2012 and beyond.

The 2012 build and competition season is nearly upon us and the EWCP hopes to make it a little easier for everyone.
Tenatively, we're planning on doing the following casts:
-'Twas the night before kick-off', scheduled for 1/5/12. We'll be discussing subjects like brainstorming, game analysis, strategic design and more.
-Post Kick-off cast, sheduled for 1/8/12. We'll be talking about information gathered from some of our EWCP members in reference to the new game. This discussion will be somewhat general as to not influence teams who are still brainstorming.
-Weekly Build Casts, Scheduled for each Sunday During the build season. Each cast will focus on where you should be in the build stage, any new updates that may change the game, etc.
-Weekly Competition Season Casts: Predictions, Recaps, Updates, Tips and Tricks.

I also want to take this chance to draw attention to a couple posts that I feel will be of use to teams going in to 2012:

Our very own Ian Curtis took the 2010 and 2011 qualification match data (data set available upon request, just shoot me a PM) and did some analysis to determine what the average teams were doing and what effect penalties had on them.

We actually had to revive this guy from his Joy Division days in order to get this data. Totally worth it. :p

Definitely looking forward to having much more frequent casts, and I hope teams really learn from them.

Bumping this thread to inform everyone of some updates to the site.

There is now a Tools link along the top, currently it only contains the single speed gearbox calculator. This calculator has been updated to include presets for motor data for all the robot motors in 2011. Clicking them updates the sheet to use the values for that motor. The page has also been adapted to improve printing, it now prints completely on one page for easy use as either a teaching tool or as notes for what your gearings options are.
