Inventor not recognizing WIFI adapter

So recently I purcahsed a Linsys USB wireless network adapter as shown here (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0054YQO5C/...=B0054 YQO5C). Simply put, it works when I am browsing the internet, sharing my printer, moving documents, etc. The issue only crops up when I try to access the internet through an application (like activating Inventor or playing Starcraft). As far as I can tell, the aplications don't recognize the adapter as an internet connection.

Any ideas as to how to fix this? If need be I can provide system info.

PS, "I thinks" and "I'm not sure, but"s are welcome. I just need ideas on where to start my debugging.

Did you go to the manufacturer's website for drivers, or are you using the generic windows drivers?

Actually, just solved it :)
Updated windows 7 and the problem disappeared.
