Actually a rendering, Katie took the time to CAD us all out in the most realistic way possible.

/Sarcasm.

Sidenote: Best. Picture. Ever.

Why is there a bird in Dustin's hair?

I think this should be the official new logo, it's much better then that other one.

Afro's are known to be the habitats of many strange things, birds included.

Its up to EWCP. Its in no way professional, which is a look I think they're going for.

At first, I thought it was a pick, so I didn't ask why it was there.

Then after cross posting this to like 12 different places on FB I realized it was a bird... I just chalked it up to Katie being Katie. :P

Sorry, a bit of dyslexia reading your name :/
Also, I guess I left out two or three guys, so I apologize to them as well.

No apologies needed, I loved the picture and just got done putting it on some buttons :)

I'll make sure one finds its way to you.

Despite the misspelling, it's great to know that I'm not the only person who doesn't think of him as "Rick" or "Mr. Sisk", but just "rsisk"

Also, Katie, I think that if there's a future iteration of this, rsisk and Andrew need canes and walkers...and a lawn.

Perhaps there are girls/women in this group and I'm just not seeing it?

Unfortunately not at this time. We've made no attempt to intentionally exclude girls, but the way the group was formed was basically a collection of friends wanting to talk about robots, and the intersection of our respective social circles just happened to not have any women. I certainly feel / hope it's just coincidence.

Additionally, we have brought many female guests into the cast since April. If we find a guest who can add something to a cast (or a guest approaches us about a cast) we make no distinction on whether the guests are male, female, or anything else. Any appearance of bias is completely unintentional.

Edit:

http://d.pr/Y7y4

I am providing the data that I have access to from the FB page as far as demographics. This is the ONLY source of demographics I have access to for our podcast. I also have read somewhere (can't recall the source) that the male/female split for FIRST was 73%/27%. Yes there is a difference between the two. I believe part of that could be our advertising methods (predominantly CD which seems quite male dominated). If you, or anyone on CD, has any suggestions for how we could make content available to the community we would be happy to hear the suggestions.

This picture was actually just who Katie asked Dustin is involved in the EWCPcasts, not the EWCP.

The EWCP itself has plenty of female students and female mentors on their teams. 3929 has two female engineering mentors.

Re: pic: EWCP Family Photo

Thanks for the input, guys.

Andrew, let me think a little bit about some suggestions.

One thing that comes to mind would be a Championship conference presentation about the group, the purpose, and who is involved. You could also provide an opportunity for letting people know how to get involved.

I've followed the formation of the group, somewhat, and the program is gathering momentum and gaining attention. To be able to address questions or concerns like the ones I might have - in the manner that you have - is a very good thing. It's also something to think about/keep in mind.

Thanks for your answers. I appreciate them.
Jane

EWCP do you take requests for projects or collaborations? If so who would I talk to?
