There seems to be a lot of talk of Development, research, and overall advancement. Maybe they're expecting something new this year?

They're approaching Kinect excellently, doesn't seem to be mandatory.

oh no. kinect hybred mode. hopefully the kinect is better lived then the 08 IR senosors of doom.

Weird, I was expecting kinect to be something end game, since autonomous is supposed to be no human interaction..

With the provided SDK, it isnt too difficult. Ive seen some videos and the provided code is apparently very easy to put together a basic robot to run from your movements.
