Someone please let me know if this is legal or illegal before i proceed.

only one person may login to an account at a time... so, unless you want to never have a chance to login, no.

So from your phrasing teams can download this game many times as long as they used a different first name and email and all that stuff or is it limited to 1 per team?

Each team can only create one account even if they try to use different team member's name and email. Using that single account, teams can install the game on as many computers as they would like, but only one computer can log into the game at a time.

Curtis,
Were you a part of making this game?
If so, why did you mess with the whole login thing?
Thanks,
-Duke
Also, Eric, you do have the ability to play as a guest in the simulation so I don't think that part matters.
EDIT: To clarify, you only need the team login to download the .exe
After that, you can play as a guest.
Also, i don't understand why when doing a 1 v 1 on a keyboard, you can only have bots without roller or shooters. Kind of pointless if you ask me.

Yes, I am the programmer for the game. The login system is our DRM for the software which is partially based on the way Steam and other PC games handle their DRM.

This is not entirely true. Yes you can log in as a guest, but in order to get past the start screen, you must have logged in at least one registered team.

Thanks for letting us know. We will take this into consideration as we prepare for future editions.

The game is not a virus. Several people have stated that Norton sees the setup file as a threat and very few have said that Norton sees the actual game as a threat. However, I assure you there is nothing at all to worry about with the game. We are working on a more convenient way for teams to download and install the game without Norton thinking that it is a suspicious file.

Will it ever be Mac-friendly?

You didn't answer the question: Why? Why must one log on in order to play? What reason is there to prevent a team from running multiple instances? How can the simulator be played without requiring an unrestricted connection to the Internet?

Curtis, will there ever be an update that eliminates these one per computer at a time restrictions?

Will there ever be the capability for multiple computers to play at once. It would be nice because then everyone on our team good go home and test with it and then report their findings without having to wait for each person to get off.

If each team can only use one computer at a time, how could a team play an actual game where all 6 bots are being controlled by a person? I might be missing it, but wouldn't that be the goal of such a program? Perhaps all 6 people have to share 1 keyboard somehow?

If your goal is to get more FRC students interested in your software, DRM is only going to hurt you.

Considering it's written around the XNA framework and links as an appref, I doubt they could get it to work on any non-µ$oft machine without entirely re-writing it. It is written with Visual C#, correct?
