Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
The update is necessary to correctly run the plug-ins, however the update site has also been re-deployed to attempt to avoid further problems.

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
Every time I try to run the install this plugin, an error comes up that says FRC Cpp Development Tools (1.0.0.2) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.ui.console (3.5.0)", or later version. Anyone have any idea where I could fix this?
Thanks, Sajan Team 818 |
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
Could you give a little more info on your development environment?
useful information would be: - Version of Workbench you are running (in about) - Whether you have installed the updates for this year for workbench (if not, try that, as this appears at first glance to be a "your version is too old" issue) - Any additional plug-ins your have installed - What step of the process this occurs on All this will help to narrow down where to look for the problem, and figure out if its specific to you or a general one I need to fix in the next update of the plug-ins. Hopefully I'll be able to help :) (and hope your build season is going well!) |
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
When reading the cookbook section on vision processing, the subsections on sending data to the robot, detecting circular targets, and measuring distance to targets have section titles, but no explanations, just a blank page. Is there another version that includes these somewhere that I haven't found?

As for when in the process this error has occured, after adding the url and name of the plugin in the updates window and clicking finish, there is a new window that comes that has the search results for the updates and has a checklist. I go to check WPICookBook and when I do this error ("FRC Cpp Development Tools (1.0.0.2) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.ui.console (3.5.0)", or later version") comes up and doesn't allow me to do anything else in that window except for press cancel or unchecking the plugin update. Let me know if you need anything else to figure this out. Thanks, Sajan Team 818 |
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
So I have cleaned out the site build process and tried changing/tweaking a couple of things. Could you try downloading the plug-ins again and see if that has fixed the issue?

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
This time, the plugin installed, but after restarting WindRiver and right clicking on the command based project, there were no FRC options for adding commands or subsystems under the "New" category, just the regular WindRiver options.
Thanks for your help so far, though. At least the update installed. |
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
We have the same issue. It really is just a basic template though. You could look at the examples in the cookbook and just create your own to start with.
|
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
The FRC options are under a separate menu, right below the "New" menu, called "New FRC Element". It is easy to overlook - is this menu present or is it also missing? Further, there is a "New Element" Dialog for classes and such - the wizards should appear in a folder there as well.

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
No the New FRC element menue isn't there.
For now, I've just been copying and pasting the basic template and then customizing the commands and subsystems. |
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
Are the wizards displayed in the list of "New" items that pops up if you select "New->Other"? There should be a dialog box similar to the new project dialog box which has them included in it.

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
Sorry, nothing about the FRC commands or subsystems....although, on one of my teammate's laptop running Win7, everything was fine. So, at least the update works for that. I've just been copying and pasting the necessary template code for each file.

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
I also have been getting by with copy/paste. Running windows xp. I like the command based stuff so hoping the plugin and problems with the smart dashboard get fixed for next year.

Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
SPatel94 - just curious, what OS is Windriver running in on the problematic machine? And are there any other major differences between the machines?
|
Re: There's a new version of the Cookbook posted
The problematic machine is a windows xp professional.
