Webcam to use for time lapse

Hey, I'm looking to make a time lapse of our team's build this year. I searched threads already looking for recommended (cheap) webcams, but the only thread I could find just had software recs. I was looking to spend around 30 or 40 dollars max, and something really cheap would be great since I might buy 2 to film 2 separate locations and do a split screen video. I know they sell $5 webcams on Amazon but it makes me kinda worried why they're only 5 bucks. If anyone could recommend a webcam with decent quality that would be capable (I'm not really sure if all are) that would be great. Happy Build Season! :)

This year we are using a Radioshack webcam that i found for 20$ last week in store, here is the exact one. I have been capturing 640x480 stills and have been pleased with the quality. It is capable up to 1024x1280, but file size could be a issue depending on how you are capturing your timelapse.

I'd say that if you ever get the chance, http://gopro.com/ is a camera that you should try and convince your team to get. No only could you use it for time lapses, but you could also mount it on your robot at one point, since it is a durable camera.

Old Canon digital cameras work well. You'd need to change the firmware to this opensource one http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK
