From what I heard EP 1/2 of Season 4 are supposed to continue the finale.

And rewatching it for the first time since the morning, it is a good episode, but again, rushed. If only they just ended the episode with the camera panning out from the scorch mark, cliff hangers FTW. But overall Thank you MA Larson, you gave us a decent EP out of a bad corporate idea. I just hope they can keep Season 4 up.

Ps: DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERPY

*Edit*
Also, the liveaction promos were painful.

Re: BRONY THREAD

I'm going to be a rebel here and say the finale was absolutely amazing (and this is from someone who wasn't really fond of the rest of S3, and pretty much hated Wonderbolts Academy). I thought that the premise and execution were spot on, if a little bit underwhelming. There was just a lot more they could have done with it. I have high hopes for S4, especially if the speculation I've read ends up being true.

Well, although the season three finale wasn't super. There is some serious awesomness in it:
- Celestia's Ballad
- Progressive story line
- Overall awesome M.A. Larson work
- Ponies**
So, ya... let me quote Rarity on this one, "[M.A. Larson] (I) made it work."

Didn't see this post until after I left Waterford, but still got brohoofed. Hehe.

Just happened to be talking with you during alliance selection. "So what team you from?"
"1528."
"Oh, do you know a Dean... no, Devin Wiley?"
"Oh, yeah, that's me!"
I was trying tp figure out if I was famous or something and didn't know it. until you said "You're the brony from Chief Delphi!"
I found it too funny we happened to be chatting then. :p OH, and our pits were right by eachothers the whole time

Edit:
Any FiM West coast bronies? 1528 will be at St. Joseph next weekend. Perhaps we could give one another a hand or chat.

Or me, if you're at St. Joseph. I'm chilling out in 1528's pit tonight working, just ask for Devin.

So, anybody else have troubles with their bot? We've had quite a bit both this week at St. Joe and last week at Waterford. I won't lie, we were unprepared and under-tested this year. Waterford we were broke the entire comp, had a single W. A tad bit more lucky here at St. Joe's, actually much, much better! We went 3-1-8, ranked 35, but hey, at least we could move! The first six matches (0-6) we had a bad router. We were dropping from 12 to 6 volts when we played, and we still managed to play excellent defense and even pushed a few bots like they weren't even there. One of the CSAA's or TSA's or something came over to shake our hands saying he had never seen a bot run on 6 volts, let alone play well. Anyways, we didn't do too bad the second half, still rushing on work and fixing this thing and that. (3-1-2) We weren't picked, but hey, I had fun, and that's what I'm here to do! Love FIRST! Stop by and say hi if you're here!

Oh! And I got to dance! I was in the pit too much at Waterford to get the chance, sadly. Oh, and our pits near the entrance closest to the matches, but not the one the robots go out to the matches through (That aisle though!).

No FiM++ isn't really for something serious. It's more of a proof of concept kind of thing.

There's a steakhouse place or something right by my hotel, haven't checked it out yet, there's also a McDonald's about four blocks down from the arena, any places you know of? Maybe a bit before 12 we should find a place to meet and decide where to go from there?

You could always become a "junior mentor."

We had a few guys who graduated as seniors that came back as such, and it was great having them around. I think just then being there knowin we weren't at a total loss human-resource wise and allowed us do a lot better than last year, when we had no upperclassmen with experience whatsoever.

Oh, I've already thought about that but since I'm going to a college that's about an hour plus away from our town it would be a little difficult to attend meetings in-person. Hopefully I'll be able to rustle up some funds to be able to go to champs again someday because it's super fun.

While we're on the subject of making the most out of our FIRST experience, I must once again petition this thread for help regarding my "no team" listing. As of last year, I posted a request to see if anyone needed my help because my team had not been the greatest, and I was amazed by how awesome the responses here were. I come again asking for something a little more. My school's only team has decided to ban me from joining this year because I'm "a useless sack of s**t." (I haven't been able to get any more specific than that, but I really want to think that it isn't true, especially considering I had to be physically barred from the shop last year because I was working and refused to leave). Point is, I'm going to be a senior next year, and I really, really, really want ONE enjoyable year out of FIRST, which has so far not happened. (I was thrown out of a moving subway, for starters). I therefore ask you to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, see if there is any way I could actively help out your team programming-wise next year. It would mean the world to me. I'm familiar with LabView, Java, C++, Objective-C, Ruby, and Python, I can do basic electronics work, I've coded robot autopilots in C++ and Java since I was 8, and if there's a programming task I'm not suited for, I'll teach myself over the summer. I'll be happy to provide any and all necessary references.

Please. I'm counting on you guys for a halfway decent senior year with FIRST, and I figures bronies would be the nicest people to ask.

TL;DR Tossed off team, need a new team to work for, please help.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I can kinda relate because even though I'm pretty smart compared to some of my teammates I'm nothing, and I'm a bit of an outcast. (I don't socialize much, I'm shy) Because of this I feel left out and unguided 90% of the time. Anyways, I was one of three programmers with any experience still on the team this year, the other programmers we had to teach, and being our first year using lab view it was a bit rough. If we need help this coming year I'd be glad to welcome you as support to our programming division.

Guys and girls (sometimes called Pegasisters) typically aged 16-23 (on average) who are fans of the recent reboot of Hasbro's "My Little Pony" franchise, or more specifically the current cartoon show based on the franchise, titled My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The show was created by Lauren Faust and the staff is full of all kinds of 90s and early 2000's cartoon and tv writers and such that give the show it's appealing stories and characters. Considering the widespread mention of the fanbase I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. :D

I'll be happy to provide any and all necessary references.

Please. I'm counting on you guys for a halfway decent senior year with FIRST, and I figures bronies would be the nicest people to ask.
TL;DR Tossed off team, need a new team to work for, please help.

What good timing too!

Because of our (horrible) experiences with labview, we decided to move to Java next year (I voted for C++, but Java will be easier to learn for all the newbies.) The problem is, I only know C++ and Python. I don't know java really well. Or how to program the robot in it for that matter. On top of that, I'm going to be the lead programmer next year. Of course, if you could help, that would be really, REALLY, appreciated. And maybe we could even get you on our team somehow.

Everytime I see EQG, I want to throw up. The character style is horrible, and the characters are going to VERY OOC.

Not to mention the plot is going to be something out of a typical fanfic like this:

Spoiler for Prediction:
1. Twilight becomes human
2. Twilight meets human forms of her friends
3. Twilight finds out in order to get back home, she must get some artifact
4. Twilight falls in love
5. Twilight must choose between love and home
6. Some antagonist makes things more complicated
(PLOT TWIST: antagonist is also equestrian)
7. Twilight wins
8. Twilight revels her true form
9. Twilight goes home, probably with a "parting sorrow" scene w/ love

I might need help next season with labview programming. The problem with my team is that most programmers have experience however its more with text-based languages, only two of us stepped up to learn labview (we considered switching to Java however the coach disagreed). I was made head programmer pretty much midseason this year and I managed, however it would be nice if others helped considering the workload (planning much more for next season). I'm letting the guys with text-based skill work on projects such as our site and scouting system. I might need help with labview robot programming this upcoming season so I'll keep you posted :) .

Yes, the 2 of us that programmed the bot this year were Bronies :D (a Brony and Pegasister to be specific).

Thank you guys all so much! I would have never expected so many awesome people would come to help! (Which is good, because the situation with my old team is getting REALLY bad, but that's another story.) In any event, if you want to contact me, you could Skype me at alxg833, or email me at goulda@bxscience.edu (I check it more often than my Skype.) Again, thank you guys so much! This is awesome!

(I mean seriously, I recently had a HORRIBLE experience with FIRST, and I didn't even know that was possible! I'm not sure if I can express my thanks in words, so have the whole dictionary.)

Do you think you could large images in [spoiler] tags? It really helps us with slower computers out.

Also, I'll add you on skype, we can begin discussing things there if you want. :) My skype name is ILikePizza555.

Spoiler for Big Image:

I also added both people who contacted me on Skype. (Sorry about the wait! My Skype is a little buggy.)

So, how's everyone's summer going?

I had both my Earth Science and Algebra 2 exams today, and they're my last exams of the year. I'd say my summer is going rather well considering I'm only about 2 hours into it.

And how about you? Doing/done antyhing fun this summer?

I just went to my third Equestria Girls meetup. I loved it, and I can't get the songs out of my head. Anyone else see the movie? What did you guys think?

Spoiler for That movie about horse women:
I LOVED it! I found myself smiling for most of the movie. The fan service and jokes relating back to the episodes (Pinkie's psychic abilities, SpikexRarity, the exact recreation of Twi and Flutters original meeting back in Ponyville) were abundant, but not overboard. I also liked Trixie's peanut butter cracker addiction and the CMC posting their song on YouTube. :D

Overall, the plot was great. It established the "united we stand" theme that the show's been going at since it began. I liked the Quantum Leap style dimension travel, where all of Twi's friends exist in the other dimension, yet they don't know her. From the trailer I was thinking that all of the mane six went in the portal with Twilight, but the way they did it made it better. Sunset Shimmer, although she appeared to be the "school bully," she was actually a really well-developed character. It made sense that she tried to take over human world after Celestia wouldn't let her rule Equestria. The ending "fight" scene gave me goosebumps; when Sunset shimmer turned into a demon it was freaking scary (in a good way), and certainly unexpected for a movie with a "girly" aura.

The animation was same as always, they kept the same general faces despite having new bodies. It was easy to believe they were the same lovable ponies, as they even maintained their personalities they had from the original show.

One more thing, the songs. They were good, but nothing special that caught my interest.

Overall, I give it... a decent 13.5 out of 10. It was a really well done movie that shattered my expectations.

One more thing...

Spoiler for Equestria Girls:
Forgot to address one other thing. From the trailer, it seemed like if there was going to be any romance, it was going to be the teen drama stuff, but once again that wasn't the case. It was cute. Extremely cute, especially the point where you find out (super spoiler) Flash Sentry is actually a guard from Equestria that went through the portal to protect Twilight.

Well, the second trailer put me back on the fence, and the positive feedback kinda makes me want to see it. Idk, probably will when it comes out on DVD.

*Searches online* You're right! I know where I'm going to be the 23rd... Besides the build room if we intend on meeting then, in that case I might DVR it.

My Little Pony at Ramp Riot's FTC Competition

I don't know much about ponies, but I've been in Baltimore long enough to know enough about it.

So it started this morning at Ramp Riot when I stopped by the FTC competition to check out what's going on. Oddly enough, I spot someone with the last name of "Octavia" on the registration sheet that's crossed out and replaced with a real name. :0

Then when I came back during lunch break, I spot duct tape on a laptop referring the the show's protagonist, Twilight Sparkle. It was sitting on the table behind the FTC field probably controlling the music, and had a bucket of mints in front of it:

I also noticed red duct tape on the referees that weren't wearing a black/white striped jacket.

'Twinkie Pie' refers to the pink party animal character, Pinkie Pie, possibly eating a twinkie:

And then there's 'Prancing Unicorn', possibly referring to the ostentatious dress perfectionist Rarity:

I have also seen a random sing language "J" hanging on a wall. I think that this may be a Homestuck reference, but I am quite suspicious that it may have something to do with MLP:

I was pretty much the only person who got the "inside joke", and when I approached the referees about the red tape on the back on their shirt they had no clue what it referred to but liked the "names they were given".

It's either that they're secretly bronies, someone running the event is a brony, or some mischievous brony injected some pony into a FIRST event. Who knows?

Very amusing, someone sure had a nice laugh.

And I have no idea what the J sign is.

I believe the J sign is referring to Wissahickon's J hall

According to twitter, someone's doing it wrong.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you should be watching the kickoff instead of My Little Pony right now. There's a lot of good things being announced right now! ;)

GAAH WHY CAN'T I HAVE BOTH?!?!

EDIT:

Oh, and I'm currently swapping between this thread, the Kickoff threads, FIMFiction, and the actual kickoff presentation in Houston....

I wonder if "BATS!" counts as a bat-pony episode. I really wanted one this season.

Also, I like how no one seems to notice that Twilight is an alicorn. Maybe it's because alicorn exists outside of royalty and are just rare? Idk.

Perhaps there is some sort of perception filter and only a select few are allowed to know...? Idk...
