Pnuematic Wheel Durability?
We would like to use pneumatic wheels partially inflated as wheels w/ their own shocks. How would that fair with the barrier and actually use as shocks?

Re: Pnuematic Wheel Durability?
If you are talking about the new AM pneumatic wheels, we just received ours. They are really grippy and the rubber seems pretty durable. I don't plan on driving full speed at the bump but I think the will reduce the shock of going over it a LOT.
We'll see. Bruce |
Re: Pnuematic Wheel Durability?
The pneumatic wheels used in FIRST are usually caster wheels or cart/wheelbarrow wheels, and are meant for pretty rough applications. I doubt the barrier could mar them, much less pop them.
On the other hand, being ready for anything is pretty important in FIRST. I think it would be cool if all the robots with pneumatic wheels had spare tires mounted on the back. :) |

First team 2221 is planning on using skyway 6" pneaumatic caster wheels. I'm looking for a detail for a hub to modify the wheel to accept a sprocket.
