Hi Colleen

Student on team #47, Chief Delphi, from Oakland University and Pontiac Central/Delphi Interior Systems. Posted on 10/7/99 5:08 PM MST Hi! Just out of curiosity... I remember last year you mention college in one or two conversations and I was just wondering if you were still part of the FIRST team as a college student or as a high school student. Either way... I like how you put down 'FIRST a-holic.' I think I am one too. Every year I ask Mike if I could drive again in one of the competitions. I just cannot believe I will never be able to again as a high school student. At those moments, I just felt like it could never end. Now, I can only talk about it. That drives me crazy.... So Mike, if you are reading this...I can still be taken as a high school student. (Even with my stool!!!!!!) myder |

(i was driver for 3 years on my high school- i don't know how i'm going deal with not having that these days) to answer your question- how could i give up FIRST, no way!! over here at BostonUniversity they started a team last year and are looking to continue it this year and I am definitely working as a major part of keeping it alive. we kinda lack a lot of support from the college, but we're slowly and surely getting the FIRST word out in this big city of Boston and the BU community so all those likely people attending the NJ regional and the Nationals will likely see my FIRST-aholic face on Team #246. FIRST has done so much for me and consumed my life so much i don't think i could survive a year without it! i feel your pain about not driving!! i'm hoping i can at least be a coach this year so i can get my filling of the on-stage competition, although nothing in the world will replace the ability to control those 'bots.. colleen |
