Re: Official FIRST STEAMWORKS Teaser and DLC Pack 1!

The challenge turned out to be a crucial part of gameplay, being an actual action on the field, not just the game challenge. "Prepare to take flight" may be a similar thing where it's not just rising...

Re: Official FIRST STEAMWORKS Teaser and DLC Pack 1!

Water vapor is actually invisible (you can't see it). We don't typically refer to water vapor as steam. Steam is the same as clouds: they are little water droplets condensed in the air. Steam is a...

Re: Official FIRST STEAMWORKS Teaser and DLC Pack 1!

The number six may imply that there will still be 6 robots on the field at a time.

Re: It is almost here!!!

I definetly think they'll bring the theme back again based on the success of last year's theme. Space theme I hope.

Re: Robot Cart

We use a metal hydraulic cart which is definetly fine for our use. Only two problems:

ridiculously heave when transporting to/from an event
No space for tools/drive station/other things so drivers...

Re: What event is your team registering for first?

We're probably doing Waterbury and Hartford in NE again - always great events! Not sure which one we'll register first for though, but probably Hartford.

Re: FIRST Pen Pal

Is this team-to-team or member-to-member* pen pal program? I can see the benefits and drawbacks of both - just interested.

*Member being either student or mentor or anyone involved on the team (a...

Re: [FRC Blog] The 2017 FIRST Robotics Competition Teaser, DLC Pack 1, and Teaser Aft

If I remember correctly, the tower popped out between the "FIRST" and the flag at kickoff, giving a last-minute clue.

Re: Is FIRST about Robot?

I'd say that we definetly should try to build the best robot we can. That is the way, after all, you learn the many skills in FRC. Without trying to build the best robot we can, why are we here?

Re: Is FIRST about Robot?

I think the robots are a means to an end (a tool of sorts). Through building robots, we can achieve that goal that FIRST set out. The question is, how important are the robots? Look at it like any...

Re: [FIRST EMAIL] Stop Build Day Survey

To be fair, we would have 2x the bag hours as a typical regional team because we would have 2 events instead of 1 (or 3 vs. 2).

Re: [FIRST EMAIL] Stop Build Day Survey

I'd say that's very fair. Time in the shop, after all, is usually more valuable than in the pits (what with the access to all your machinery, parts, etc.). In fact, you could even keep regional's...

2019, that is. 2017 will definetly have a bag day, as stated by Frank.
